Blame Canda!!!

So I know I have been kinda AWOL for a while, but i have been really busy with tests and crew and random shit. So last week I had two tests, one in genetics which was pretty easy, and the other in orgo. The Orgo test was a piece of shit stuck on a stick. So I was pretty much studying that for the week.

O so yeah I forgot I haven't updated in a while. I made the boat for the Regatta, and the race was this weekend. We drove up to Canada early in the morning and came home late at night. It was pretty awesome. We raced an 8 boat in the novice division. It was pretty much my school and then 16 Canadian ones in our race. We came in 4th, which is really good, but we should have done better(here comes a rant). During a head race all the boats start at different times, with about ten second interval. If a boat behind you is going faster than you your are supposed to let them pass on starboard side. So we kept trying to pass this boat infront of us and they would not let us through. So we were zigzaging through the course trying to pass them, and losing time. THEN at the end of the race there is turn and we took the inside turn and they turned too sharp and our oars were hitting each other while we were rowing so half of us stop rowing becuase we didnt know what to do. So we lost alot of time there. We were out of third place by 16 seconds. I am not saying that if that stupid Canadian boat followed the rule we would have placed, but we definitly would have had a better chance. But all in all we did really well and I am realyl proud of my team. That is really all for now.

One more thing Mwiko, i dont know if this is too late, but if I were you I would try crew out. It is tough, and both physically and mentally challenging but I think it is worth it. But if you end up only kinda liking it I would say quit. Waking up at 6 in the morning isnt worth it if you are not enjoying it. (hope that helps).

Who wants to give me a massage...

i promise i will pay you some money if you do.

So yeah basically i am incredibly sore right now and my hands a kinda beat up. They are not THAT bad though which is nice. I almost missed practice this morning it was so bad. I usually set two alarms, my alarm clock first and then my phone alarm. SO this morning at 7 my alarm clock went off and i turned it off. The next thing i know i wake up and it is 7:34. I got up and started freaking out. Usually i give my self 30-45 minutes in the morning before practice; 10-15 minutes to get ready and 20 minutes to walks. I got up threw off my clothes grabbed clothes out of my draw and ran. I made it to the boat house by 7:46 and got to the courtyard and there was no one in the courtyard or on the dock. I was incredibly upset and i screamed shit really loudly. Then a varsity member goes "Oh the girls are on the other dock right down there." I go down and LUCKILY they were there. I usually wouldn't have been that upset for missing practice but our coach is bringing only 8 rowers and 1 cox to a regatta in two weeks... out of 20. In order to even be considered to go you have to be at all your scheduled practices and do the two additional workouts. Although i know i probably won't make the boat, i still don't want to take myself out of the running.

So okay other random news in my life. I got payed 11 dollars today for being in this experiment. What they do is they put you in the dark room in front of this computer and cover one of your eyes. Then this circular grid flashes for like 1/2 a second and you have to say if it looks like the left or or the right side is closer to you. It actually gets really hard at the end becuase you are staring at the screen and everything looks the same. You were in the room for 6 ten minute intervals and get a 2 minute break in between. It was sweet cause now i am 11 dollars richer. I have to go two more times so guess who will be loaded by the end of next week lol.

Shana Tova

So Happy Jewish New Years everybody. Today is Rosh Hashanah (which literally mean "head of the Year" in hebrew) so i am not going to classed and I went to Hillel this morning. It was much better this year than last year... last year temple was CRAZY.

SO let mew recant last years Rosh Hashanah services for you.

Okay so first me and my friend are sitting there and then this family she knows sits next to use and they dont stop talking THE WHOLE TIME. It wasn't even like a whisper, they were full out talking. So the whole time everyone in the service kept giving us dirty looks. Next THEY ALMOST DROP THE F-ING TORAH. If this doesn't sound like a big deal to you it should because if the Torah is dropped 40 days of fasting done. The fasting is split up between everyone who sees the Torah drop. It was really scary to say the least. This one is probably the most interesting for all of you. So we were standing up for one of the prayer and there were these two girls in front of us. They were standing really close and their arms were touching. All of a sudden the girl on the left moves her hand behind the girl on the right and GRABS HER ASS!!! I turned to my friend and we started cracking up. It was the most bizarre thing in the world. I mean don't get me wrong, i am not complaining about seeing an ass grab, but in the middle of Rosh Hashanah service WTF. Well that all for now, i am going to try and be a good jew.

I joined the Crew

So school has started once again, so what else besides procrastination and whining about class am I to talk about. Classes so far have not been too bad. I just have a shitload of reading.

So the only new update i have about my life (which i am sure is about to take over my life) is that I joined my schools Crew team. It is also called Rowing and if you want to learn more about it you can find out here. Practices start anywhere between 6 and 7:30... in the morning. I am hoping this gives me more motivation to get everything done and it is also giving me a great workout. I went out on the water for the first time today and it was really hard but fun. So that is my life all you readers. I didnt want you to start going through withdrawal without a socky update!!

Back To School...

Back to School
To Prove to Dad that I'm not a fool
I've got my lunch packed up
My shoes tied tight
I hope I don't get in a fight
Ohh back to school
Back to school
Back to school

You guys have to know what that is from!!!

So here I am back at school. I have a new roommate who is nice and my room is big and nice. Classes started yesterday. I am taking Ideas of the Greeks, Roman World, Organic Chemistry, and Genetics. The Genetics and the Orgo both have labs and recitations which sucks. So the Professor for my Greek class is so weird. It takes him so long to get through an idea and every time he gets up i am scared he is going to fall. So that is really all that has been going on. Ill keep you updated

Socks

So I got only two requests for the picture meme thing. I would love to have more cough cough that means you. So I can't take a picture of my room key because I am not yet at school. But Madi also asked me to take a picture of my two favorite socks... so here they are.

The one on top is of monkeys and banana's, and the ones on the bottom are my Hanukkah socks. I got them one Hanukkah from my parents, they are super comfy.

So this got me thinking about socks. Usually when I tell people my screenname or they see it they are like "Why is this your screen name... do you really like socks?" Sometimes they say this as a joke and sometimes it is a real question. The "sock" in my username has nothing to do with liking socks but was instead was my idiotic 5th of 6th grade self kinda liking soccer. But I realize now the I REALLY DO LIKE SOCKS. I think socks are completely comfortable and cute. I like both below the ankle tennis socks, longer socks you wear in the winter and I like soccer socks that go to your knees. I like knitting socks and the way they feel on your feet. I also love how they can warm you up so much although they are so small and only cover a tiny part of your body. So that is that girls... I LOVE SOCKS.

My Mouth is in Pain

So there are a few things i am going to post about today. First is I went to the oral surgeon today and had to get my gums. Apparently my wound didnt heal right and there was scar tissue in the wound there there shouldnt have been. I dont really know the oral surgeon was a douche bag and didnt really explain it well and was rude to me when i was telling him where in my mouth it hurt. So here is on reason I do not want to be a doctor... I never want to get the God Complex that doctors have. I told him where my gum was hurting, and then he tapped on the tooth right next to it and said "this isnt your wisdom tooth." So i reply "I meant the gum next to that was hurting." The he steps back looks at me and says in a condescending tone "I know what you said but i need to check this tooth anyway, it is how we find out the problem." Later when he said I needed to get an xray, I was explaining what had been previously hurting me and other stuff that happened in my mouth he takes the step back and says in the same condescending tone "instead of you trying to diagnose yourself let me take the xray and let that tell me whats wrong." This guy was a douche bag, i wanted to hit him.

Second this is I apparently go tagged by Madi
So this entails you to:
Ask me to take pictures of any aspect of my life that you're interested in/curious about -- it can be anything from my favorite shirt to my cell phone. Leave your requests as a comment to this entry, and I'll take the pictures and post them.
Even though she has not actually done it yet I will be the better person and actually do it.

Now it is my turn to tag people...I tag
Sissi
Aimee
Sivi
Matilda
Paradox

And now I will send you off with the best picture in the world

Camp Is Over

So camp is over now so i am back. It was really hard to say goodbye to everyone and I am going to miss them so much. This summer there were so many English counselors it is really hard to know you are probably never going to see them again. I might go to England for winter break though so hopefully I will get to see most of them. I am trying to do a no hotel trip and only stay at peoples houses since i know people all over the country. If i fly out on christmas flights are extremely cheap, so i am keeping my fingers crossed. I had such a great summer and made such great friends. My co-counselors and I became such great friends it is hard to leave it. I am also pretty sure this is my last summer so it my be the end of a huge era in my life. I have been there for ten summers, so for the past decade I have only know summers with camp. I have gotten so fucking good at friendship bracelets it is sick lol. Well that is all for now, for the next two weeks i will be packing for school. So i will probably be on a shitload. See you around girlies.

Um Tag

So it is funny becuase me and my friends from camp play a game named tag (no not the recess game) and we have been playing it all weekend, but here I go.

These are the rules of internet tag:

1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog. These are the rules:

8) I Don't Share Chapstick: I do not know what it is about chapstick but I have never and am pretty sure will never share chapstick. There is something about it i find repulsing. It is odd because i have no problem sharing food, people double dipping or sharing drinks but there is something about chapsticks. This applies to lip balm as well even if its not in a stick form.

7) When I was five or so I got my head stuck in a metal railing at my grandmothers house. My parents couldnt get it out so they had to call the Fire Department to remove my head.

6) I dont always think before I speak so some incredibly stupid things come out of my mouth.
Ex: 1)Me- Did you know that this year November starts on the 1st.
2)Me- When does March Madness Start?

5) I never take the top plate. I am not sure of why so i cant explain this one any further

4) I cannot multitask for the life of me.

3) Charmed used to be my favorite show on TV and it was my guilty pleasure so i was embarrassed to tell anyone i watched. I do know every single episodes titles or at least what episode of the season it was and what happened for the first three seasons. I also taped the first three seasons in order and still have it.

2) When I was younger i always used to trip and walk into things so my parents thought that there was something wrong with me. I had to have a brain scan and it turned out that I was just clumsy.

1) I stuck a red M&M up my nose and it got stuck and my parents thought my nose was bleeding.

Everyone else has been Tagged, so i tag everyone who hasnt been tagged

I don't want to be a muggle

Okay, so anyone that knows me (or has talked to me when i am drunk) knows that I am still waiting for my letter to learn I am a witch. There must have been a messup down at good ol' Hogwarts and I am just going to be accepted to a special Witch and Wizarding school for grownups. They have just not made a book about it yet. Moving on...

I have finished Harry Potter. I have to admit I cried at the end knowing that it was over. I AM NOT GOING TO GIVE ANY SPOILERS DO NOT WORRY. But i did get a bit teary eyed at the end knowing that I would never read another new Harry Potter again. My sister said that she was watching the news this morning and they had a psychologist there, and they asked him how parents should help their children cope with the ending of Harry Potter. I mean i am really attached to HP and the books but i mean come on a fucking psychologist.

I have so much more i want to talk about with Harry Potter but i cant because i dont want to give it away. So that is all for now.

Folding laundry... pffh

So here i am, another Sunday night when i am supposed to be folding my laundry. Except i am not folding, instead i am watching the wonderful invention called THE TELEVISION. It is one of the best things in the world. Right now Big Love is on.

So some people don't know what camp is all about. If you want to know what i am doing and getting payed for this summer it is as follows:

A Friendship Bracelet

And that is Lanyard

I guess watching children is also part of my job description but whatever. Hope all is well everyone and catch you on the flipside.

I really dont want to make a title

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I have been busy with camp and stuff. This weekend I drank ALOT and it was fun but alot of drama. We got ditched by some other people from camp this weekend and dropped from their plans, but we made the best out of it in the end.

So I said a while ago that I would post a picture of the socks and i can't think of anything else to write about at the moment so here you go:

My camp director is pregnant so i used the leftover yarn to make her booties:

Socky Has Drunky Friends

So after about three weeks, i finally finished the second part of Sockast episode 4. Paradox and Biz are still with me and we are drunk. We talk about dildos, masturbating, pickles and so much more. Well i hope you enjoy and as always if you have any questions or comments post them here or e-mail me. I also want to give a shout out (because i forgot when I was recording) to Sissi for sending me an awesome mix for my trip to spain, and I used some of that music for this podcast.

Socky Has Drunky Friends (right click and save as to download)

Songs-
Me & My Imagination- Sophie Ellis Bextor
Eleanor- The Low Millions
Dire Wolf- Grateful Dead

Since i havent posted in a week, i will talk about camp now. My kids are ADORABLE, they are going into 5th grade and so sweet. I love them so much. One of my girls got the lead role in the camp play, I am so proud of her. So I realized that camp relationships are so weird. The best way I can describe how time passes at camp is that you are fitting a years worth of emotions and drama into 2 months. So there are these two people who after four days of meeting each other are in this hardcore relationship. It is so weird. He also has a girlfriend back home in England which makes in weirder. So that is all I have for now cause i need to wake up for the bus early tomorrow. Have a good week.

Here I Am

Hey guys, so i got back from camp orientation today. I didn't really have much time to go on the computer or internet while I was there cause the wireless sucks. It was really fun, the other counselors are really nice, and there is a really hot Scottish girl. I love camp so much, I am really excited for this summer.

So I didn't get to finish editing the second part of the episode. I will try to get it done and up by tomorrow, but I cant make any promises. If not i will have more internet access while at camp than at orientation, so i will get it up during the week. I only get to go online though during my time off which is a 40 minute time period each day, and at night after 10 oclock.

And they had the younger Babysitter Club series also. The movie was um not as great as i remembered to to be, but that didnt hold me down.

So last night i recorded a podcast with a special guest, it should be coming out sometime soon. Here are some more pictures from Spain.

Procrastination= Lambchop

So after Greens nostalgics post over her childhood, i decided to do one about mine. Last night i was talking to some people and Lamb Chops Play Along came up in discussion. Not sure how, but it did lol. Then i started you tubing it to find videos and watching them made me so happy. Wasn't Shari Lewis just amazing, i mean she can sing as a ventriloquist, like her lips barely move. Aww i miss this show my favorite character was hush puppy by far.

This also got me thinking about Wee Sing videos which no other Kelkian seems to know about. They were these wacky videos in the 90's where they sang and these magical things happened. They are pretty trippy when you look back though. All my friends at school watched them when they were younger though, so there has to be at least one kelkian who has seen one of the videos. This is a a video from Grandpa's Magical Toys. (this video doesnt give the movie justice).

Weddings and Such

So i went to my cousins wedding today. Before you read this post you should know two things about me. I am drunk (1) and i have a really close family (2).

The wedding was really nice. It was my second cousin or my first cousin once removed. I love her so much, i see my extended family more then most people see there immediate family. While i was sitting there i was really happy for her but kept thinking about myself and marriage. I know leggally i cant get married to a women. But to me (although legal issues are a big part) religously marriage is important to me. I want to have a ceremony one day, and have my family come together for a union under what would be god to recognize. Whether you beleive in god or not, i feel as Jewish tradition i should be able to do this. The thing is i want it to be just as accepted as any other marriage in my family and i dont know if it ever will be. Its hard to explain especially because i am drunk so i will stop now. I am really happy for my cousin though and she deserves this marriage so much.

Second i babysat for my cousin (about as distant as my cousin who got marrieds child would be to me) who was 5 months this weekend. He was so cute. I realized how much i want a child. There laugh is so genuine and innocent, and it is the best thing in the world. Okay i will go now goodnight.
